Today hills are less numerous; the terrain is mainly rolling. You will zip by fields of grapevines and of corn (maize). You will cover the 39 km easily in the morning, and have a free afternoon for relaxation or shopping. The highway is not busy and is fairly wide – except through the towns, where the streets are narrow, often one way and sufficiently slow moving that you can ride in the middle of the lane with traffic.
The directions for today are uncomplicated: Follow D931 from Éauze through Manciet, Nogaro (gites, b&bs, hotels, restaurants, food) and Barcocellone-du-Gers to Aire-sur-l’Adour (gites, b&bs, hotels, camping, train service). Nogaro is a large town; D931 goes straight down the main street, which is one way with you and the best way through the town. In Aire-sur-l’Adour, also large and with all facilities and lodgings, you are now in the French Department of Lande .
